CINCINNATI, OH; SEPTEMBER 7, 2016 — Trayak, the authority on product and packaging sustainability, has recently concluded an E-Waste initiative designed to recycle nearly 500 Lbs. of obsolete electronic devices. For three weeks, residents and organizations throughout southwest Ohio’s city of Mason recycled unused mobile devices, tablets, and other electronics as a part of Trayak’s E-Waste drive. At the campaign’s conclusion, it was reported that an estimated 1,500 Lbs. of electronic waste– three times the program goal — was collected and eliminated from landfills. Electronic devices were recycled at the Mason Community Center and pop-up educational booths were staffed multiple times a week by volunteers from Mason High School. The E-Waste team engaged with residents at local events such as the city’s annual Red Rhythm and Boom celebration and at the Sunshine Summer Concert series. Supported by a number of local organizations, the E-Waste drive was truly a community-wide effort. Some of the organizations joining Trayak included: The city of Mason, Mason High School, CincyRecycling, ConnXus and Top Gun Sales.

The E-Waste initiative was created to bring awareness to MyGizmo, Trayak’s recently released mobile application that is bridging the gap between technology and sustainability.
